Young People
Too many young people become injured at work. In Europe, the probability of young people aged 18 through 24 years having an accident is at least 50% higher than that of employees in other age groups. People in this age category are also more susceptible to work-related diseases that develop insidiously. The statistical data are based on real, individual stories: young people who suffer the consequences of an accident or impact on their health for the rest of their lives or who die when they had their whole lives ahead of them. A number of good practices for reducing or preventing the risks young people face at work are given here.
A number of real-life examples of good practices that have reduced or prevented the risks for young people at work are given below.
The information has been divided into the following sections:
- Digital instruments (3)
- Occupational accidents (2)
- Safe working practices: information and instruction (20)
More information can be found under ‘Sources of information’.
