Discussion fora

Mailing lists are commonly used for discussion on the Internet. The articles that appear on the mailing list are sent to subscribers as an e-mail message. Correspondingly, subscribers can participate in the discussion by sending messages to the mailing list. There are several mailing lists in the field of occupational safety and health, including the following:

  • IAVM-L mailing list
  • SAFETY mailing list

IAVM-L list is a dutch mailing list for OSH-professionals. It is active since 1993 and there are over 500 participants. You can access the archive of IAVM-L where all messages are being stored.

SAFETY is a mailing list for the discussion of worldwide safety issues. Typical issues include laboratory safety, hazardous waste issues, and safety management. More information about the list is available at the Vermont SIRI website

In addition to the above mentioned lists, several other lists are useful for occupational safety and health professionals. A very extensive list of relevant mailing lists can be retrieved from the website of the Canadian Center for Occupational Safety and Health.
